JETBOIL® was founded by Dwight Aspinwall and Perry Dowst to simplify the preparation of food in nature. The company was founded in 2001 as the founders considered the previous cooking systems somehow heavy and cumbersome. As a reaction, the so called Jetboil Personal Cooking System was developed and awarded in 2004 by the Backpacker magazine.
