JETBOIL® was founded in 2001 by Dwight Aspinwall and Perry Dowst, who responded to the overly cumbersome cooking systems offered by other manufacturers at the time. Part of their effort was the so-called Jetboil Personal Cooking System, a comprehensive solution that has become a popular system for cooking in nature. Even so popular that in 2004 was awarded by Backpacker magazine.
