By the way, gas… yes, most pocket wind lighters are gas-powered, but you can also find petrol ones. If you run out of fuel in the lighter, it is usually not a problem to simply refill it. This is an advantage because you don't have to keep buying new and new lighters. The one and only original one can become a permanent part of your equipment.
But it's not just fuel. Another important part of any lighter is the ignition system. Quality lighters are equipped with a piezoelectric system that reliably ignites the flame. You can also choose a wind lighter based on its design, but now we don't mean how you like the lighter, but how you hold it—ergonomics is also important here.
However, from the point of view of the safety of yourself and those around you, use the lighters into the wind only for starting a fire where you can find a lee side.
