This lightweight hammock blanket follows on from the previous generation Otul Lite blanket, which has become a legend in a short time. It can protect against cold, wind and light rain and thus increases the comfort of those who like to use their hammocks for sleeping outside. Especially on colder nights.

Primaloft Silver insulation

Compared to the previous generation Otul Lite, this blanket is equipped with Primaloft Silver insulation, which is produced without a quilted construction. And this means the elimination of structural cold spots. Compared to the previous variant, the insulating layer is 20 % thicker and thus simply warmer.

A blanket as an extra layer of insulation

And why buy an underquilt for the hammock? It has one basic reason – to keep you from getting cold at night. If you lie down in a hammock, even in a sleeping bag, the space below you is uncovered – it simply lacks the necessary layer of air, which you can warm up with your body heat. And while you would put a mat on the ground for these cases, in the air a blanket is more suitable, which wraps the hammock beautifully from the outside.

Full body protection

Compared to a mat, which only insulates from below, a hammock blanket protects your body from at least three sides – in addition to the bottom also from both sides. Therefore it is more suitable. In addition, most mats are not cut to fit the hammock. When you tighten the hammock, the mats can twist or slip out from under your body.

What about sleeping without insulation?

There are nights that you can comfortably spend in a hammock without insulation, but those are tropical nights that only appear a few times a year in our conditions. In order to sleep comfortably without a blanket under a hammock or mat, it should be at least 18 °C stable throughout the night.

Quality materials

In addition to the mentioned Primaloft Silver insulation, the hammock underquilt Otul Lite is made of nylon – its upper nylon part also has a ripstop treatment against tearing (and when the material tears, the resulting tear does not spread further) and also DWR, i.e. permanently water-repellent treatment. In addition, the Primaloft Silver insulation in this case is made from recycled material – and the entire blanket is also manufactured in Europe, so it does not need to be shipped halfway around the world.

Universal attachment system

In addition, this hammock blanket is equipped with a universal attachment system with Ungaper technology, a solution that can raise the blanket by approximately 10 cm. The unique solution is fully elastic and adjustable at the same time.
