Helikon-Tex® Patriot HF MK 2 fleece jacket

The new version of the iconic Patriot jacket from the Polish company Helikon-Tex is more modern, more thoughtful and with an innovative, better design. The first version of the jacket was above average popular, but the manufacturer simply decided to move on and believes in the second version of the Patriot.

New, hybrid material

The Patriot HF MK 2 jacket is made of a new material called Hybrid Fleece, which, compared to the original version of the jacket, reduces weight and at the same time increases breathability. At the same time, it maintains thermal comfort comparable to the Patriot MK 1. The new version of the jacket was created by Helikon-Tex designers removing the redundant elements of the original one and adding some innovations on top.

Two layers

The mentioned Hybrid Fleece material consists of two layers. From the outside it looks like a completely standard fleece, but on the inside it is a so-called grid fleece, which we can recognize from the Alpha Hoodie and Alpha Tactical jackets and sweatshirts. It is a material with a fine, checkered structure, consisting of raised squares and thinner spaces between them. This is what reduces the weight and increases the breathability of the new version.

Lots of practical pockets

The Patriot HF MK 2 fleece jacket is equipped with seven practical pockets. You will find two at chest height, and two new pockets are located at the bottom, at the hips. Thanks to this, compared to the original version of the jacket, you get more flexibility when arranging your equipment. There are also two shoulder pockets and one inner pocket, on the other hand, the back pocket on the kidneys and the small pocket on the left forearm are missing.

A more modern design

The Patriot HF MK 2 variant received a more modern design, both the jacket itself and its hood. Overall, the jacket is more fitted and less restricting in movement. Other new features include laser-cut velcro shoulder panels with pen holes, and zipped armpit vents to help with thermoregulation.
