Rottner is an Austrian family company that has been involved in the field of security since 1971 – i.e. more than 50 years. It has specifically focused on the production of safes and cabinets for weapons and other valuables, many of which meet the strictest certifications.

Rottner Tresor was founded in 1971 by Heinz Rottner Sr. This family business recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Today, it is run by Heinz Rottner Jr. and the company thus remains in the hands of one dynasty. The main office is located in the town of St. Georgen in the Attergau region of northern Austria, in a beautiful landscape near Lake Atter.

Expansion abroad

The Rottner company gradually expanded to various countries around the world, with the first direct foreign branch opened in 2002 in Germany. In 2006, the British Rottner Security UK Ltd. and the Netherlands' Rottner Tresor BV were established. After another three years, a branch was added in Romania, and in 2010 they opened the Slovak one. A significant non-European expansion was the opening of a branch in Cape Town in South Africa in 2017.

Today, Rottner has its teams, partners and warehouses in more than 20 countries. Thanks to such a large network, the company can supply its customers in a really short time and also offer them support in their respective national language.

Different categories of safes and cabinets

Rottner has a really wide range of safes and cabinets in its offer. Probably the most important for us are cabinets and safes for short and long weapons, including accessories, many of which also contain special, separately lockable boxes for ammunition or other accessories, such as cleaning tools.

The leading European manufacturer of security technology also offers furniture and wall safes, filing cabinets, fireproof safes, and fireproof safes designed specifically for storing paper documents. A large part of the offer is equipped with certified safe locks, both cylindrical and electronic.

Gun owners will also appreciate the gun carrying cases, which can be locked again just like the safes. The additional range of Rottner Tresor also includes mailboxes, drop-in safes, key lockers and safes, banknote readers or even coin boxes.

Everything according to the norm

Rottner safes meet certification according to the current ČSN EN 1143-1 standard and are classified in security classes S1 to V. Furniture safes and safes are in security classes 0 to V. Safes are classified into individual security classes according to their resistance to burglary. Here it is necessary (at least for insurance purposes) to adapt and secure the space in other ways, including anchoring the safes to the floor and/or to the ground.

Gun safes and cabinets

As already mentioned, Rottner Tresor's portfolio also includes gun safes and cabinets. These are available in different variants, which differ from each other in the number of weapons that can be stored in them and the locks used, but also in whether they use a single or double shell construction.
