Sunglasses

It is a beautiful day outside so we decide to take a walk. We get outside and direct sunlight hits us like a boxing champ in his prime. It takes some time for our eyes to get use to it, but after a while we are able to carry on with our trip. Did you know, that these sun rays can be really harmful ? No ? You should therefore keep on reading to find out more. We can of course protect ourselves, we just need to know how.

Sun as an enemy

It is well known, that the sun is a gift of life. Without it, there would be no animal, no plant... simply no life. During its shining, which arises as a side effect in the burning of the gases from which the Sun is created, there are also a number of undesirable radiation that get through our atmosphere on us. Thanks to radiation we get tanned, which is virtually protective reaction of the skin. Our eyes can not protect themselves so effectively and yet, we still expose them to the Sun. Along with another radiation we also know so called UV (Ultraviolet) radiation with wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm(nanometers). This radiation is responsible for the tan, but also for many eye conditions from which some of them can be very serious.

Protect at all costs

How do we protect against UV radiation ? Simply - wear a sunglasses with UV protection, that filter UV rays out. Such sunglasses will have a label that says 100 % protection against UVA/UVB. And don´t worry, all sunglasses that we offer have this label. Another protective feature are polarized lenses. Have you never heard of it ? Polarized lenses reduce glare from horizontal surfaces such as, window, road or snow. Such lenses are good choice for those who drive often or for skiers and those who love water, but also for anyone else, who is looking for little extra comfort. Last feature to look out for is so-called visible light transmission, which is the amount of light that reaches your eyes through your lenses. There are 4 scales, from which 4 is the darkest , letting only 4-8 % of sunlight reaches your eyes. Such lenses are good option for example into the mountains where the light is reflected from the snow.

Something must hold it

The second most important part after the lenses is a frame. Frames don´t only hold lenses, but they also determine overall fit and comfort. There are many frames to choose from, everything is mainly about design and personal style. It is only up to us what we like and choose. In addition to different shapes and designs there are also different frame materials. The most common are metal and plastic frames. Plastic are lighter, but also more fragile. Both of them have their pros and cons and we can not therefore say which one is better.
