S.B.T. = s top b leeding t ourniquet Is the certified product of the Czech company Skala Medica . This company is the only real manufacturer of tourniquet S.B.T. in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

It is a tactical, outdoor tourniquet , which serves to immediately stop massive bleeding caused by mechanical damage.On its development, CLS = combat life savers participated (rescuers from the 4th Quick Deployment Brigade). They also conducted a clinical evaluation of the medical device and its testing. Thereafter, the tourniquet was still tested in real situations by an intervention unit of the PČR, rescue medical service and members of the ACR.
Life saver
More than half of the area of the human body form the limbs and the vast majority of injuries has something to do with them. One can bleed to death with massive bleeding until 1 minute from injury including seemingly banal at home injuries, therefore the tourniquet finds its use everywhere . Professional first aid made by this tourniquete saves life , because in a minute, the ambulance will not arrive and many victims of injuries die due to massive limb bleeding, before they can be given any appropriate care.
No velcro please
One of the demands with the development was the absence of a velcro . The requirement has been fulfilled, keeping the effectiveness of the tourniquet to those available on the market (known as C-A-T® ) which are velcro equipped.On the contrary, much better water and impurities resistance has been achieved , allowing the tourniquet to be used even under water. Captured dirt,moisture or water reduces the efficiency of the velcro and can therefore lead to a tourniqute failure. The fixation is solved by a unique aircraft-grade aluminum lock. The solutions with a VELCRO strap fixation complicated the application of the tourniquet, especially with self-help.
How it works
Main focus during development was on effective self-help applications. The tourniquet works on a simple principle of uniform pressure by means of a windlass strap and a rotary motion of the windlass rod .
