Do you need a kick in the morning or during the day? Wake up properly so you can function? Forget home-made infused coffee or instant coffee 3 in 1 and give your body what it needs for optimal performance!

1) Bulletproof coffee

Bulletproof Coffee was popularized by the American biohacker Dave Aspery, who got a taste of the local drink made from yak butter while traveling in the Himalayas. At home, he adjusted the recipe accordingly and adapted it to the taste buds of us Westerners. The basis is high-quality coffee with a high caffeine content and is supplemented with a dose of clarified butter or ghee and MCT oil. All the ingredients are whipped into a foam in a mixer.

While caffeine naturally provides stimulating effects, high-quality fats provide long-lasting energy and a pleasant creamy taste. Bulletproof Coffee is often used, for example, during intermittent fasting, carbohydrate waves or as a breakfast substitute.

But it is not an ideal solution for every day. Bulletproof coffee contains basically no vitamins or minerals and can be difficult for people with more sensitive digestion to stomach. Nutrients will be supplied to your body by another coffee-based drink, for example coffee with medicinal mushrooms (such as reishi, chaga or cordyceps), which are just loaded with beneficial substances.

2) Matcha

The legendary Japanese tea actually has its origins in China. But that is not important for us. Its positive effects on the human body, stimulating effect and large amount of natural antioxidants are important. As one of the highest quality teas, it provides energy, supports cognitive abilities, supports immunity and heart function, and helps control body weight.

How is matcha prepared? Traditionally, it is drunk as part of a ritual ceremony, which has complex rules and can last several hours. Otherwise, it will be enough to pour a teaspoon of tea with hot (not boiling!) water and whip it into a foam. In the summer, it refreshes you again when cold – just shake a teaspoon of tea and 1 dcl of water in a shaker with a few ice cubes.

3) Mate

Yerba mate is another cult drink, this time from South America. This natural energy drink contains caffeine and theobromine, but is loaded with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. It supplies energy, improves memory and concentration and generally stimulates the nervous system.

Maté is traditionally prepared in a calabash, which is a container made originally from a hollowed-out gourd, but it is also made of wood or metal. The drink is then sipped through a bombilla, which is a metal straw with a strainer. And it should circulate among friends properly. But it is not necessary to go about it in such a complicated way, just pour 1-2 teaspoons of it with hot water at 70-80 °C and let it infuse for a few minutes.

4) Cocoa

100% cocoa in high-quality processing is one of the superfoods. It contains theobromine, which stimulates the body, activates the heart and strengthens the cardiovascular system. The word theobromine comes from Greek and translates to "food of the gods". It gives the body energy, dilates blood vessels and induces a positive mood. Compared to its "cousin" caffeine, it has fewer side effects and a slower onset curve, so it won't give the body a "kick" followed by a slump and lack of energy.

Thanks to gentle processing, cocoa retains a high amount of nutrients, including magnesium in its natural form, iron, and zinc. Attention, you would find these benefits in vain in ordinary "Dutch-type" cocoa, which has undergone strong roasting, or in the sweet Granko. Therefore, look for the label "ceremonial cocoa" and choose only from quality sources.
